#21: Interruptions

1 min read

You don’t get any work done?

Do you think it takes ages to finish a task?

One thing to consider is to eliminate distractions which interrupt your workflow. The easiest way to start is probably your smartphone. Try to put it away when you are trying to focus on something or at least try to disable all unnecessary notifications if you need your phone for taking notes for example. Keep in mind that it

takes an average of 23 minutes and 15 seconds to get back to a task.

So that’s 1395 seconds of 86400 seconds from the day. Let’s assume you get 8 hours sleep, which are 28800 seconds, so then whats left are 57600 seconds. So only round about 42 interruptions needed to spend all of your waking hours to get back and focus on the task you wanted to finish.
