#34: Five Minute Journal

2 min read

Maybe you’ve heard how using the Five Minute Journal method made Tim Ferris and thousands of others happier.

The following will summarize the most important aspects and benefits of it.

It has a morning routine with three questions:

  1. I am grateful for…
  2. What would make today great?
  3. Daily affirmations

And an evening routine with two questions:

  1. Amazing things that happened today?
  2. How could I have made today better?

If someone asks you

What’ve you done on Saturday 5th Oct 2019?

You can just go to your journal entry of that date, see your answers to the five questions and use these answers as anchor points to remember that day. Another advantage in my opinion is that the answers you give in the morning probably will have influence how you answer the evening questions. Especially question 2 and 4. Some of these answers could be goals you want to achieve on that day and you will be surprised how often you will achieve these goals on that specific day. And regarding time it takes only 5 minutes a day.

For now I just use a digital notebook to keep track of my Five Minute Journal, but this App should replace that and I also want to make it available to you when it’s ready.
