Maybe you’ve heard or used bicycles or electro scooters which are part of a sharing model. And if you try to avoid cars in cities then these types of transportation are probably more efficient for you. What I don’t like about these models are that the time you have to spend searching and going to an available bike or scooters you could’ve saved for something better. On the other side I’m not a fan of spending time doing the maintenance. There is a company called Swapfiets from europe where you can just pay a fixed monthly fee, own a bicycle during that time and if something is broken within a day they provide you with a working bicycle. I use this service now since around 6 months, two times something was broken during that time and I got two times a new bike, because the issues were not easy to repair. One time they missed an appointment for repairing the bike and as service I had nothing to pay for the next month.

They fixed the two problems for me, not spending time on searching for a bicycle or scooter and not wasting time for maintenance if I would buy a new bike for myself.
